Rather than attending a driving school in town where there are so many students that it is difficult to receive driving and theory lessons, it would be much better for your life to come to Tanegashima Driving School, stay at a nearby guesthouse, and study there.

The instructors are all extremely kind, encouraging all the students and showing their commitment to helping them grow together. They're like the uncles and big brothers and sisters in the neighborhood! It's great that there aren't any scary instructors!

I can get my license in 10 days.

I was accepted for Driving Camp to obtain Class 2 Heavy Vehicle in 2021. At that time, the license was already limited to medium-sized vehicles of 8 tons, so I was able to obtain it in about 20 days during the good season of August.
I still remember vividly how all the staff were nice and warm-hearted, how life on the island was slow, and how it was a very enjoyable Driving Camp with tours of the space center, splashing around on the beach, and recreational activities like BBQs.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it may be difficult to take the same measures as we did back then, but we still wholeheartedly recommend Tanegashima Driving School to anyone considering taking Driving Camp.
It is also Object for the education and training grant system, and the fact that large and Class 2 vehicles are Object for subsidies was also very attractive.
If you already have a regular Driver's License and are considering a large or class 2 vehicle, we recommend renting a moped from the rental bike shop near the port. With a moped, you can get to Nakatane and Minamitane in about 40 minutes, making it a fun place to spend your days off.
