Makurazaki City is the number one city in Japan for deep-sea bonito landings and bonito flakes production, and the Makurazaki Fish Center is where you can eat the freshest bonito!
Located inside Makurazaki Fish Port, you can also buy fresh seafood delivered directly from the neighboring market!
The nearby Fire God Park boasts one of the most scenic views on the Satsuma Peninsula, where you can see the natural scenery of the four seasons throughout the year. It is also famous as the place where Umisachihiko and Yamasachihiko, who appear in the Kojiki, are from, and it is a tourist spot where you can enjoy magnificent nature and a panoramic view of the East China Sea! You can experience the sea and nature of Makurazaki to your heart's content!
It is home to Makurazaki Nagisa Onsen, the only hot spring facility in Makurazaki City.
From the open-air rock bath, you can enjoy the view of Tategami Rock and the sun setting over the East China Sea!
