■ Mogami Town, a town full of historical atmosphere
Mogami Town is a town that retains strong traces of history, with places like Mogami Park, which was developed on the site of Shinjo Castle, built by Tozawa Masamori, who ruled the Shinjo Domain for approximately 250 years, and the "Place where Basho boarded his ship," which was visited by Matsuo Basho. You can feel the depth of history along with the flow of the Mogami River, which appears in Basho's famous poem, "The May rain gathers, and the Mogami River flows quickly."
